Read more about Xros Heart at: Wikipedia Official Site: Toei Animation , pronounced Digimon Cross Wars, is the sixth series in the Digimon franchise by Akiyoshi Hongo. It debuted on July 6, 2010 on TV Asahi, making it the first series in the franchise to not air on Fuji Television in the traditional Sunday morning time slot. Three and a quarter years after the end of the fifth Digimon series, this new series was confirmed by Bandai. The official name of the show was revealed in the June issue of Shueisha's V Jump magazine. The first Digimon to be revealed for this new series were Shoutmon, Dorulumon, Ballistamon, Shoutmon X4, Monitamon, and a new redesign of Greymon. Character designs in Xros Wars are similar to the previous Digimon series (except Digimon Data Squad), including the wearing of goggles by the main character. Xros Wars is supported with a new card game, toys, and an ongoing manga appearing in V Jump magazine. Xros Wars is the first Digimon series to be broadcast in widescreen 16:9 and in HD 1080p. Like with the first four seasons, along with the character designs and the main character wearing the goggles, it is aimed to have a younger, lighter, and less serious tone in nature and storytelling and is aimed to appeal to an audience of young children aged 6 to 10 years in Japan (only exception of first 4 seasons is Digimon Tamers). Even so, some darker, mature, and serious content (such as profanity in episode 5) is present.
